A bit about Hayley
At a very early age Hayley took an interest in art as a child. She always drawing and painting stuff. On up through high school Hayley took a real interest in the visual arts. She has won awards for her art work at school competitions and events.
Hayley started airbrushing when she was 16 by attending an airbrush course in the Bayswater area in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. She really took a liking to the medium and after doing the course, bought her first airbrush and started practicing. At first it was just a hobby enjoyed after school, but the airbrush big really started biting and after leaving school Hayley started up her own business, Bromley Studios.
Hayley started making money by airbrushing temporary tattoos in night clubs all around Melbourne. This kept her really busy as there were plenty of people willing to line up for a grouse looking temp tatt to show off while partying.
Later on she started to get into doing more high end custom artwork such as doing murals on walls in children rooms and video arcades like Time Zone.
After some time, Hayley began to hone her portrait skills and customers found that she makes realistic portraits not only of people, but also pets and still objects.
Hayley also has had a number of works featured in art galleries and exhibition halls around the Melbourne metro area.
Hayley can design and crate art work that not only is personalized but that also crates a sense of emotion
In 2006 Hayley met Rayf Jacobs, a t-shirt airbrush artist from the Unites States(former owner of Hot Paint airbrush Art)
Rayf provided private training to Hayley and took on her on at his shop in Eastland as a subcontractor for a period of about a year.
Rayf closed the shop in Eastland in April of 2008 and continued painting from his home studio, but health issues eventually forced the decision to semi-retire from full time airbrushing. But he realized that there was still a serious demand for airbrushed shirts in Melbourne so he decided to offer the business to Hayley.
Hayley took over Hot Paint Airbrush Art in December of 2008.
Hayley is also involved with Glen Part Community Centre, there she has helped to start up and run a program for Youth who have been identified as engaging in illegal graffiti or who have been disengaged from school. The program involves teach a bit of airbrushing and providing community art project for the youth to use there artistic talents in a legal and safe way. |
